Economic
Development Priorities
|
Economic Development Administration Assistant
Secretary John Fernandez outlined Economic
Development priorities in a speech delivered in
January. He described the impact of the EDA and
noted that "Region by region, we're helping to
speed the transition to a more entrepreneurial,
innovation-driven society. In practical terms,
that means three things: Fostering regional
innovation that builds on an area's competitive
advantages.
Encouraging business exports and
competitiveness.
And doing it in a way that leverages private
investment." To view the full speech,

MCEDD
is part of a national network of 369 economic
development districts designated and funded by the
US Economic Development Administration. As part of
that relationship, MCEDD develops and maintains
and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

Trust Increases Business Incentives for Efficiency
Upgrades
|
Energy
Trust of Oregon is boosting cash incentives
for commercial businesses to invest in
energy-efficiency improvements, which can lead to
lower operating expenses in existing
buildings.
The enhanced incentives are
available for custom projects in existing
commercial buildings that are approved by October
31, 2010, and completed by year's end. Energy
Trust's standard incentives for new
construction, major building retrofits and other
building efficiency investments remain the same.
Lighting upgrades, which provide the quickest
returns in the form of energy savings, will also
remain at the current incentive rate.
Energy Trust of Oregon is an independent
nonprofit organization dedicated to helping
utility customers benefit from saving energy and
tapping renewable resources. Serving customers of
Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW
Natural and Cascade Natural Gas. Click here to learn more or call
