As one of the core functions of MCEDD is regional coordination, we have been bringing our regional public transit partners together for many years as the Gorge TransLink Alliance and more recently for Travel Training assistance.
Gorge TransLink Alliance
The Gorge TransLink is an alliance of rural public transportation providers, human service organizations, and public planning agencies seeking to enhance connectivity and develop a seamless network of transportation services within the Mid-Columbia area, and linking these services to the metropolitan cities of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.

The Gorge TransLink Alliance was formed in 2010 when the governing boards of the five area transportation providers signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MCEDD that created a formal organizational structure. MCEDD convenes and coordinates the Alliance through its regional Mobility Manager. Since 2010, the Gorge TransLink Alliance partners have taken significant steps – both individually and collectively – to improve the coordination of available services, to facilitate broad regional access, and to enhance overall public transportation connectivity throughout the region. The region’s fixed route systems and technology coordination have expanded the accessibility and reach of the system. This has been partnered with ever increasing ridership that is the direct result of educational outreach.
